Get to know me:

I migrated to the United States in early 2009 and since then I’ve been the loving mother of two kids, tended to a lot of beautiful flowers, nurtured Monarch butterflies, and plan on writing a book. A certified Medical Assistant for over 14 years, I received my Skin Care Certification in early 2014 and now I’m working on becoming a herbalist.

A naturalist with a love for delicious food, my free time is primarily spent working in the garden or in the kitchen, devising my own recipes.

It is hard to say when my obsession with natural oils and herbs started, born in a small sugar mill town, on the east side of Cuba,  I grew up seeing my parents and grandparents walking in through the backyard, collecting herbs and making infusions to help with some common ailments. In my adulthood, after I started developing allergies to some of the off-the-shelf self-care products, memories from my childhood came back and I started looking deep into it.

After researching some of the most well known brands I found that many of them contained additives that would damage my skin, causing a lot of discomfort.  Using the skills that were taught to me by my family I started to develop my own recipes. Taking the basic framework of healthcare products I started revitalizing them, removing unnecessary chemicals, and replacing them with organic ingredients you could find growing in a garden. These recipes were a game changer, not just for me, but also for many of my friends and family.

Times are changing, nowadays everybody has become more conscious of how harmful synthetic additives are. and I would like to play a role in this grand movement that is growing, by sharing my knowledge and expertise. Creating Ty has been a way to give my hobby a purpose and I would love to share some of that magic with you.

From My Kitchen to your home!

I hope Ty will bring you as much joy and gratification as it has to me.
